The Planning and Development Board (P&D), Government of Punjab, is the principal planning organization at the provincial level. It coordinates and monitors development programs and activities of various departments of Punjab Government. The mandate of the Planning & Development Board includes provision of technical support and coordination to various Government Departments in their planning activities. P&D Department is part of Punjab Civil Secretariat, Lahore. To run its functions, P&D Department recruits fresh as well as experienced incumbents time and again to fill vacant posts of different categories through Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).

Punjab Planning & Development Department (P&D) has advertised its 50 posts of Assistants (Basic Pay Scale - 16) through PPSC under Case No.11-RK/2019 with the following bifurcation:
Open Merit 23, Special Persons Quota 01, Minority Quota 03, Women Quota 13 and Special Zone Quota 10.
Minimum Qualification: Degree from a recognized University
Minimum Experience: No work experienced is required.
Age: Male 18 to 25+5=30 years and Female 18 to 25+8=33 years
Gender: Male, Female & Transgender
Domicile Eligibility: Only Punjab domiciled candidates can apply.
Place of Posting: P&D Board (Headquarter - Lahore) / Anywhere in Punjab
Syllabus for Written Examination / Test
As per PPSC advertisement, the syllabus for written exam / test of Assistant posts will be as follow:
One paper MCQ type General Ability Written Test of 100 marks and 90 minutes duration comprising Questions relating to General Knowledge, including Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Islamic Studies (Ethics for Non-Muslim Candidates), Geography, Basic Mathematics, English, Urdu, Everyday Science and Computer studies.

Exam Fee for Assistant Post
To deposit fee for exam of Assistant posts in P&D, the applicants must comply with the following instructions:
- Deposit Rs.600/- under Head: "C02101- ORGANIZATIONS OF STATE-TEST FEE REALIZED BY THE PUNJAB PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION", in any Branch of State Bank of Pakistan or National Bank of Pakistan or Government Treasury on or before the closing date.
- No Bank Draft or Pay Order or Cheque or any such instrument is accepted.
- Applicants residing outside Pakistan, but having Domicile of the Punjab can deposit the fee at the Pakistani Embassy of residing country in the currency of that country equivalent to the amount of Application/ Test Fee prescribed for the post.
- Special Persons are not required to deposit application fee.
Closing Date: 25-03-2019 up to 12:00 AM (Midnight).
Exam Date: Examination schedule will be announced by PPSC after closing date.
Salary of Assistant in P&D Department
Salary of Assistant Post in Planning & Development Department is equal to Basic Pay Scale 16 along with allowances as admissible to other Punjab Government Employees. An estimated salary is as follow:
Basic Pay: Rs.18,910
House Rent Allowance 45%: Rs.4091
Convey Allowance 2005: Rs.5000
Social Security Benefits 30%: Rs.5673
Special Allowance 20% (2009): Rs.3265
Medical Allowance 15% (16-22): Rs.1500
Adhoc Relief Allowance 2016 10%: Rs.1588
Utility Allowance: Rs.7000
Adhoc Relief Allowance 2017 10%: Rs.1891
Adhoc Relief Allowance 2018 10%: Rs.1891
Civil Secretariat Allowance 50%: Rs.9455
Total Salary: Rs.60264
Promotion Scope of Assistant in P&D Department
As per Punjab Planning & Development Department Recruitment Rules 1985, the Posts of Assistant are filled by Promotion on the basis of seniority-cum-fitness from among Senior Clerks with at least 3 years' experience as such. However, if no suitable person is available for promotion then Assistant posts are filled by initial recruitment.
The Assistants with at least 05 years' experience as such and have passed the departmental examination (if any) prescribed by the P&D Department are eligible for promotion to the rank of Superintendent Grade-17.
I want to ask about qualification required for this post, as only mentioned Degree from a recognized University.
Applicant must be graduate in any discipline.
I think these posts are not in Civil Secretariat so Special allowance and Secretariat allowance will not be admissible
Dear Imran Habib, I believe all employees, belong to any other department but working in Civil Secretariat Lahore, are eligible to get this allowance.

I just want to clear one thing that if the selected candidates will serve in lahore head office then they might be admissible to the incentives mentioned above but if they will be posted in district offices then what will be the salary
Because the aformentioned allowances are admissible to only those who are drawing there salaries from secreteriat payroll
If an employee is posted at anywhere out of Secretariat, Lahore his salary will not include Secretariat Allowance.
