The Crop Reporting Service in the Agriculture Department Punjab, through its field survey work, prepares agriculture estimates every year. The field reports of Agriculture Department, prepared by the field staff appointed in the selected villages, are given due importance for the Crop Estimation Work.

Field Assistant (Stat) / Crop Reporter Job

Posts of Field Assistant (Stat)/ Crop Reporter, Basic Pay Scale-11, are important in Crop Reporting. Field Assistant (Stat) / Crop Reporter deals with collection of the data on crops and processes it in laid down procedure. All the estimates of Agriculture Department relating to the crop reporting are based upon the work of the Field Assistant (Stat) / Crop Reporter.

Method of Recruitment

As per its service rules namelyThe Directorate of Agriculture Crop Reporting Punjab Service Rules, 1986, 100% seats of Field Assistant (Stat) / Crop Reporter are filled by initial recruitment. These posts are being filled by Agriculture Department through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) and qualified candidates are recommended to Crop Reporting Directorate for their appointment.

PPSC generally conducts one paper MCQ type written test of 100 Marks and 90 minutes duration. Syllabus is as under:

  1. Questions related to Agriculture 20%
  2. Questions related to General ability 80% including Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Geography, General Knowledge, Everyday Science, Basic Mathematics, English, Urdu, Islamiat and Computer Studies.

At its website, PPSC has announced 36 - posts of Field Assistant (Stat) / Crop Reporter (including 20 posts reserved for Special Person Quota, 16 posts reserved for Minority Quota) on contract basis for a period of 05 years & likely to be continued in Crop Reporting Service, Punjab Agriculture Department.

Job Requirements / Eligibility

Qualification: As per service rules, The Directorate of Agriculture Crop Reporting Punjab Service Rules, 1986 minimum qualification / experience required for the job of Field Assistant (Stat) / Crop Reporter is as follow:

  1. Secondary School Certificate (Second Division) and has three year's Diploma of Agriculture Science (DAS) from Agriculture Training Institute.
  2. If none is available with above, Bachelor's Degree (Second Division) with Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or Agriculture as one of the subjects from a University recognized by the Higher Education Commission.

Gender: Male, Female & Transgender

Age Limit: Male 20 to 30 + 05 = 35 years and Female 20 to 30 + 08 = 38 years

Domicile: Only Punjab domicile candidates are eligible to apply.

Place of Posting: All Punjab

Deposit Rs.600/- under Head: "C02101- ORGANIZATIONS OF STATE-TEST FEE REALIZED BY THE PUNJAB PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION", in any Branch of State Bank of Pakistan or National Bank of Pakistan or Government Treasury on or before the Closing Date.

Closing Date: The last date to apply for Deputy Accountant is 08-03-2019 up to 12:00 AM (Midnight)

Field Assistant (Stat)/ Crop Reporter Promotion Scope

The promotion steps of Field Assistant (Stat)/ Crop Reporter are as follow:

  1. Field Assistant (Stat) / Crop Reporter, Basic Pay Scale-11, is eligible for promotion as Statistical Assistant in Pay Scale-14 after 07 years service.
  2. Statistical Assistant is eligible for promotion as Statistical Officer (Scale-16) after 05 years service.
  3. Statistical Officer is eligible for promotion as Assistant Director (Stat), Scale-17 after 05 years service.
  4. Assistant Director (Stat) is eligible for promotion as Statistician in Pay Scale-18 after 05 years service as such.
  5. Statistician is eligible for promotion as Director of Agriculture (Pay Scale-19) with 12 years' service in BS-17 and above.

Field Assistant (Stat)/ Crop Reporter Salary

Field Assistant (Stat) / Crop Reporter gets salary of Basic Pay Scale-11 along with other allowances as admissible to other government employees. The salary is calculated in accordance with Government Employees Pay Scales.
