Government of Punjab Agriculture Department has a specialized wing for Plant Protection i.e. Directorate General of Pest Warning & Quality Control of Pesticides Punjab responsible for monitoring of pest development and executing all the plant protection activities throughout the Punjab province.
Directorate General of Pest Warning & Quality Control of Pesticides was created during July, 1984 with the main aim to stop indiscriminate use of pesticides and to acquaint the farmers with appropriate use of pesticide with doses and time of spray.
Field Assistant Job Importance
Post of Field Assistant, Basic Pay Scale-11, is very important in Pest Warning & Quality Control of Pesticides. Field Assistant deals with collection of the data on crops and processes it in laid down procedure. All the estimates of Agriculture Department relating to the Pest Warning & Pest Control are based upon the work of the Field Assistant.
The post of Field Assistant is being filled by the Agriculture Department through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) and suitable candidates are appointed against vacant seats in Directorate General of Pest Warning & Quality Control of Pesticides Punjab.

Job Requirements / Eligibility
Qualification: Minimum qualification / experience required for the job of Field Assistant is as follow:
- Secondary School Certificate (second division) from a recognized Board; and
- Three years diploma course of Field Assistant from recognized institute including six months internship in relevant field.
Gender: Male, Female & Transgender
Age Limit: 18 to 30+05=35 years (Male) and 18 to 30+08=38 years (Female)
Domicile: Only Punjab domicile candidates are eligible to apply.
Place of Posting: Selected candidates can be posted throughout Punjab Province

Syllabus for Written Examination / Test
One paper MCQ type written test of 100 Marks and 90 minutes duration "Comprising questions on General ability which includes Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Geography, General Knowledge, Everyday Science, Basic Mathematics, English, Urdu, Islamiat and Computer Studies".

Field Assistant Salary
Field Assistant gets salary of Basic Pay Scale 11 along with other allowances as admissible to other government employees. The salary is calculated in accordance with Government Employees Pay Scales
