Librarian Job in Archives & Libraries Wing, S&GAD | Exam, Promotion and Salary

The Punjab Archives come under the administration of the Punjab Archives and Libraries Wing of the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) of the Punjab Government. The Punjab Archives contain one of the biggest collections of historical documents in the subcontinent. This collection, housed partially in Anarkali's Tomb in the Punjab Secretariat, Lahore. To run its functions, the Punjab Archives and Libraries Wing have library staff.

Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) vide its Advertisement No.23/2019 has announced 01 Librarian job, Basic Pay Scale 17, on contract basis for a period of three years.

Requirements for Librarian Job

Qualification/ Experience: Minimum Master's Degree (2nd Divison) in Library Science or Information Management from a university recognized by the HEC.
Age: Male: 22 to 30+5 = 35 years, Female: 22 to 30+8 = 38 years
Gender: Male, Female & Transgender
Domicile: Only Punjab domiciled persons can apply
Place of Posting: Public Library, Basirpur City, District Okara - Punjab.

Syllabus for Written Examination/ Test

One paper MCQ type Written Test of 100 marks and 90 minutes duration comprising questions relating to:

1. MA Library Science/ Information Management Science (80%)
2. General Knowledge (Includes Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Geography, Urdu, Everyday Science and basic Computer Studies/IT Skills) (20%)
