Job Description

The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in the areas of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental-Oral, Maxillo-facial Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.The Department has 115 full-time and part-time faculty with a strong commitment towards teaching and research. Formal structured undergraduate teaching, postgraduate residency and fellowship programmes are integrated into the academic functions of the department.
Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Senior Assistant Department of Surgery.

You will be responsible to:
Provide daily administrative support to the department residency committee and the statistics and methodology clinic run by Office for Academia and Research in Surgery (OARS).
maintain repositories of research publications, research protocols and monitoring reports
provide assistance to faculty and residents in manuscript/synopsis preparation and submission
collate information and maintain research databases for department
provide support in the submission of research articles, case studies in various online journals.
liaise with Institutional Research offices, Ethical Review Committee (ERC), Finance, Security, Dispatch, Maintenance, Human Resources etc. for day to day official matters.
prepare meeting schedules, make appointments and maintain calendar for faculty of the assigned areas
order, issue and maintain records of stationery and supplies for assigned areas as well as to ensure proper maintenance of office equipment.

You should have:
2-3 years ofrelevantexperience
excellent communication and interpersonal skills
track record of mastering new tasks with little or no supervision
good knowledge of use of computer and basic softwares
ability to handle multiple tasks and perform under pressure.
