The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.
The department is conducting an observational study at the Aga Khan University Hospital to determine the use of Predictive Analytics in predicting Sepsis and its outcome in children admitted in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of the hospital. This study will be conducted over a period of six months and will help to determine the use of these analytics and factors contributing to worse outcomes in Sepsis and will help in early detection of the same.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:
carry out enrollment of prospective and retrospective patients
work closely with PICU nursing staff, physicians and other staff to make sure accurate and timely data flow from monitors into the central stations
train nurses and other staff for accurately labelling patients details in bedside monitors and keeping a log and audit of this to make sure this happens regularly and in a timely manner
maintain a log of enrolled patients and collect data from patients medical records
prepare periodic reports of the study progress
perform any other task within the domain of the study as assigned by Principal Investigator.
Requirements:
You should have:
a Bachelor's degree, preferably an MBBS or BScNdegree
at least one year of relevant experience, preferably in a clinical setting
basic research and good interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
good command over the use of computer applications, particularly MS Office
resilience and ability to cope-up with work pressure and meet stringent timelines.
