Senior Baker - Karachi, Pakistan

Job Description

Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Senior Baker.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, which includes:
preparing pudding, gelatins, desserts (both Pakistani and Continental), stewed & baked fruits, pies, cakes, French pastries, icings, custards, fondants and various fillings used in the above desserts as per the requirements;
cleaning of cooking equipment, utensils, fridges/walk-in fridges and bakery areas;
ensuring consistency of ingredients quality and quantity, involved in the baking process;
ensuring hygiene and safety through compliance with Nutrition and Food safety standards;
arranging the display counter in an organized and appealing manner;
maintaining related documentation and stock rotation of the items stored in fridges/freezer as assigned by supervisor;
training of junior Bakers and Helpers as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements:
Matric with a certification/diploma in bakery from a reputable local or foreign institution with 6-7 years of related work experience; OR
Non-Matric with a certification/diploma in bakery from a reputable local or foreign institution with 7-8 years of related work experience.
Sound knowledge of bakery recipes and professional kitchen equipment.
Ability to read and write in English and Urdu.
Flexible with working in rotational shift duties.
