Lead Technician - Karachi, Pakistan

Job Description

Aga Khan Hospital, Karimabad invites application for the position of Lead Technician, Operating Room.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:
check operating room scheduled for surgeries and procedures and coordinate accordingly for smooth running;
receives and identifies patients correctly for surgery / procedure;
assists in preoperative patient preparation and documentation pertaining to surgery;
assists physicians in complex surgeries such as Hysterectorny, laparotomv. C- Section with complex cases;
independently under spinal and general anaesthesia;
ensure time out process before surgery;
assists in safe transportation of patients within the unit and from OR to ward and vice versa;
complies with operating room and infection control policies and procedures;
ensures proper cleaning of OR area before and after surgery / procedure;
maintain unit inventory of capital equipment and participate planned preventive maintenance;
operates all equipment as per manufacturers recommendation ensuring compliance with safety policies and reports;
any problem with equipment to supervisor for the timely rectification;
ensures safe handling. cleaning and disinfection of the soiled surgical instruments and liaises with CSSD for sterilization process;
ability to mentor novice Technicians/team members in provision of safe care in compliance with Competency Based Orientation guidelines and hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements:
You should have:
Intermediate, Graduation would be preferred;
Technician Diploma or equivalent in relevant field;
5-10 years of related experience in health care settings. Obs/Gyn or Ophthalmology surgery experience would be preferred;
sound knowledge including scrub techniques, operating room instruments and asepsis;
willingness to work in shift duties;
ability to work in pressure.
