Job Description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is part of the Universitys Women and Child Health Division, which deals with the continuum of maternal, fetal and child health issues.The department offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services for women including high risk obstetrical care, infertility, foetal assessment, routine obstetric, reproductive endocrinology, gynaecological oncology and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of routine gynaecological disorders. It also offers a four-year residency training programme.

Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities include to:
provide support in writing, revising and proof reading research grant applications and in handling internal management processes.
facilitate in obtaining approvals from the relevant authorities and submission to the granting agency
review manuscripts received for publications and provide suggestions before submission to the journal
provide support in editing research grants and manuscripts for refining in terms of English language and communication standards
proof-read and prepare the manuscripts before submission according to the different journals guidelines
communicate and provide feedback to authors for improvements
develop research survey, questionnaire and tests and prepare research manuscripts and research presentations
assess training gaps and develop new courses for residents and faculty, teach synopsis writing, epidemiology and biostatistics courses and other topics to the residents
conduct periodic audits to validate that the research being conducted in the department conforms to institutional standards of ethical and professional practice
streamline synopsis and thesis submission processes.

Requirements:
You should have:
at least a Masters degree in Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Health Policy & Management, Public Health, Healthcare Management, Sociology or any other relevant discipline
at least two years of relevant experience at management level, preferably in healthcare or research organization of good repute
comprehensive knowledge of modern research tools and techniques
excellent project management skills including ability to lead work force and manage resources effectively
strong management and report writing skills
proficiency in the use of related computer applications
excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to present complex ideas and information in clear and meaningful form to various stakeholders
excellent ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet stringent deadlines
willingness for extensive travelling to various field sites for monitoring and supervision.
