Job Description

You will be responsible to oversee the daily operations and upkeep of the University Centre, newly built state of the art high rise facility. You will be responsible for ensuring maintenance, housekeeping, security, other related activities through relevant departments and compliance with the standard operating procedures in close coordination with the respective support departments/divisions

Responsibilities:
Specifically, you will be responsible to:
act as point of contact for all maintenance, repair, housekeeping, security and administrative tasks at the University Centre, including management of facilities, equipment, services, visitors control, and building standard operating procedures
ensure that all janitorial staff are on duty and perform their assigned duties, they are well groomed, disciplined and trained in coordination with the respective stake holders. You will also ensure that these staff members are effectively utilized
cleanliness and upkeep of the facility will be the top most priority as part of the responsibility
supervise mail & dispatch service, reception management, implementation of office protocols, management of shared spaces including conference and meeting rooms, parking, elevators, pantry and other areas
partner with Administrative and Academic (Faculty of Arts & Sciences) Leads, for the implementation of SOPs to ensure smooth operations of UC
manage visitors centre, tea and water supplies for the floor
ensure that the entry and exit points at UC are controlled by the Security team and SOPs are followed by the occupants and external visitors
participate actively with the stake holders in the planning and execution of organisational events held at UC
handle inquiries and complaints of faculty, staff and students with respect to UC
maintain a safe and secure environment for the occupants ensuring building is free of hazards
assist emergency response teams in locating building sections, evacuating occupants, and containing an emergency situation
attend meetings with the management/committee to provide insights useful in taking decisions relating to the management and smooth operations of UC
forecast and maintain budget for building operational expenditures
review SOPs on a regular basis for smooth operations of UC.

Requirements:
A minimum of 10 years of experience with an exposure of direct management of facilities, office spaces (preferably busy high rises) and services
experience in a variety of organizations would be a definite asset
excellent problem solving ability with, sound judgment, independent and critical thinking with an eye for detail and accuracy
ability to work independently with little supervision
ability to multi-task and oversee multiple projects at once.
detail oriented individual with strong negotiation and leadership skills
maintenance experience with an understanding of Building Codes and Safety Regulations
results oriented behaviour, with an ability to set and meet goals
strong written and oral communication skills
must have the willingness to work weekdays, evenings, and sometimes on the weekends
a high level of integrity; who is ethical and trustworthy
strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
strong self-management with a high level of energy and flexibility.
