Educators (ESE) Jobs in PWWB | Exam, Salary & Promotion

Government of the Punjab is looking after the requirements of the Labourers through its Labour & Human Resource Department (L&HR). The department has offices throughout the Punjab Province.

Punjab Workers Welfare Board (PWWB): Punjab Workers Welfare Board is an attached body of Labour Department which looks after the needs of workers and runs many institutes for children of workers & labourers. It has established many schools in different cities of Punjab for children of workers.

Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) vide its Advertisement No.08/2019 has advertised following posts of Elementary School Educators (ESEs) of different subjects for the schools and institutes of the Punjab Workers Welfare Board.

General information and requirements for all these teaching posts are follows:

Total Number of Posts: 498 (including open merit, special persons, minority, women quotas)
Type of Recruitment: On contract basis for the period of five years under Contract Recruitment Policy 2004.
Domicile Eligibility: Only Punjab domiciled persons are eligible to apply.
Gender: Male, Female and Transgender can apply.
Age Limit: 20-30 with 05 years' general relaxation for Male candidates (Max 35 years) and 08 years' general relaxation for female candidates (Max 38 years).
Basic Pay Scale: 14

Recruitment criteria for ESEs educators / teachers (Urdu, English, General, Science, Mathematics and Mathematics & Science subjects) and their job requirements & career prospects are as under:

ESE Urdu

Post Name: Elementary School Educator - ESE Urdu.
Number of Posts: 58
Qualifications: M.A Urdu (at least 2nd Division).

BS Urdu (at least 2nd Division) is acceptable.

ESE English

Post Name: Elementary School Educator - ESE English
Number of Posts: 53
Qualifications: B.A. with English (at least 2nd Division) Or Masters of teaching of English as second Language/Linguistic (at least 2nd Division).

BA/BS (Hons) in English (at least 2nd Division) is acceptable.

ESE General

Number of Posts: 162
Qualifications: BA/BSc / BA (Honors) / BSc (Hons) / BS (Honors) (at least 2nd Division) Or BS Ed. / ADE / BEd. (Honors 04 years).

BA, BS (04 years) (at least 2nd division) is acceptable.

ESE Science

Qualifications: BSc with Zoology, Botany and Chemistry (at least 2nd Division) Or MSc with Chemistry / Zoology / Botany (at least 2nd Division).

BS (four years) with Zoology, Botany and Chemistry (at least 2nd Division) is acceptable.

ESE Mathematics

Post Name: Elementary School Educator - ESE Mathematics
Number of Posts: 48
Qualification: BSc with Math A&B Courses and Physics (at least 2nd Division) Or MSc Math / Physics (at least 2nd Division).

BS with Math A&B Courses and Physics (at least 2nd Div.) is acceptable.

ESE Mathematics & Science

Post Name: Elementary School Educator - ESE Mathematics & Science.
Number of Posts: 53
Qualification: BSc with at least two subjects out of Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Physics, Math A & Math B (at least 2nd Division)

BS with at least two subjects out of Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Physics, Math A & Math B (at least 2nd Division) is acceptable).

Professional Qualification:

For above teaching posts professional qualification of BEd / MEd / MA (Edu) (at least 2nd Division) is mandatory.

Syllabus for Written Examination / Test

One paper MCQ type written test of 100 Marks and 90 minutes duration. Syllabus is as under:

1. 50% questions from General Knowledge including Islamic Studies / History of Pakistan.
2. 50% questions relating to subjects / qualification in the qualification criteria.

Important Note

Special Note for ESEs (Urdu, English, General, Science, Mathematics and Mathematics & Science)

The candidates without prescribed professional qualification appearing in the merit list may be considered as per ranking criteria. Such candidates, in case of selection, will have to acquire the prescribed professional qualification within three years otherwise their contract will stand terminated, without any notice.

ESE Arabic Teacher

Number of Posts: 27
Qualification: BA / BSc (at least 2nd Division) with Arabic Fazal or Shahadat-ul-Almia.

Syllabus for Written Examination / Test

One paper MCQ Type Written Test of 100 Marks and 90 minutes duration. The Syllabus is as under:

1. Arabic Fazal or Shahadat-ul-Almia related questions (50%)
2. General Knowledge, Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Islamic Studies (Ethics for Non-Muslims), Geography, Basic Mathematics, Urdu, English, Everyday Science and Computer Studies (50%)

ESE PTI

Post Name: Elementary School Educator - Physical Training Instructor (PTI) (ESE PTI)
Number of Posts: 54
Qualification:

1. A./B.Sc./B.Com (at least 2nd Division)
2. Diploma in Physical Education.

Syllabus for Written Examination / Test

One paper MCQ Type Written Test of 100 Marks and 90 minutes duration. The Syllabus is as under:

1. Diploma in Physical Education related questions (50%).
2. General Knowledge, Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Islamic Studies (Ethics for Non-Muslims), Geography, Basic Mathematics, Urdu, English, Everyday Science and Computer Studies (50%).

Important Note

Special Notes for ESEs (Arabic Teacher and PTI)

• Candidates are directed to opt Venue/Centre carefully. No request of Centre and Venue Change will be accepted by the Commission at any stage.
• Special Person Candidates, who require Writer / Helper at the time of Written Test, must furnish a written request to the Secretary, PPSC Head Office, Lahore upto closing date. Helper / Writer will be provided as per request only. No request after the closing date will be accepted.

How to Apply

1. Applicants are required to submit "On-line Application Form" by the Closing Date which is 20-03-2019 up to 12:00 AM (Midnight).
2. Deposit Rs.600/- under Head: "C02101- ORGANIZATIONS OF STATE-TEST FEE REALIZED BY THE PUNJAB PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION", in any Branch of State Bank of Pakistan or National Bank of Pakistan or Government Treasury.

Written Test / Interview

1. To appear in test/ interview original & valid CNIC is mandatory.
2. Negative marking shall be done and 0.25 mark shall be deducted for each incorrect answer in MCQ papers.
3. Schedule of written test and interview will be available as and when PPSC announces the same.

ESE Salary / Pay Package:

Salary equal to BS 14 plus usual allowances as admissible to the employees of Punjab Government. PWWB has also allocated special allowances for the ESE. The approximate salary of an ESE would be as follow:

Basic Pay: Rs.15,180
Medical Allowance: Rs.1,500/-
House Rent: Rs.21,000/-
Conveyance Allowance: Rs.6,000/-
Teaching Allowance: Rs.1000/-
Adhoc relief Allowance 2016: Rs.1518/-
Adhoc relief Allowance 2017: Rs.1518/-
Adhoc relief Allowance 2018: Rs.1518/-
30% Social Security Allowance: Rs.4,556/-
Total Salary: Rs.53,790/-

Promotion Prospects of ESEs

Currently, Educators (ESE) in Punjab Workers Welfare Board, Labour & Human Resource Department are being recruited on contract basis for five years under Contract Appointment Policy 2004. Probably, the Government of Punjab may regularize services of these ESEs in future. If so, the promotion scope of Educators (ESE) will be as follow:

1. The ESEs are eligible for promotion as Senior School Teacher (SST) in Basic Scale-16 after regularization of their services upon 5 years of service.
2. An SST is eligible for promotion as Vice Principal/ Subject Specialist, Basic Scale-17, after 5 years service as SST.
