Job Description

The Aga Khan University is a private, international university committed to international standards of excellence in teaching, research and service. Experimental Medicine Platform (EMP) is a multicounty study funded by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Along with Pakistan(AKU), other countries are Bangladesh (ICDDRB), Zambia (Tropgan), and Senegal (Institut Pasteur de Dakar). This grant aims to harmonize intervention protocol for new probiotics-based medicines for the management of malnutrition in pregnant women and women of reproductive age. The grant of over one million USD is for one year, and it focuses mainly on harmonization of protocol and data and lab samples collection for studying changes in the gut Microbiome.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to work with the Principal Investigator / Research Supervisor on a research project in order to investigate / establish the aims and objectives of the research project.
Specifically, you will be responsible to:
independently conduct interviews and write up detailed notes on interviews and observation visits.
manage field work process to ensure effective use of time.
facilitate meetings among the research team and junior research staff
train new junior staff (Lady Health Workers - LHWs / Community Health Workers - CHWs) in research / interviewing skills and proper data collection
visit different households in the communities to ensure the successful completion of the data collection in their areas including Q/C
liaison with admin regarding logistics for field work
develop and conduct regular trainings of LHWs and CHWs
provide supervision and support for approximately LHWs / CHWs liaising with their Supervisors.
raise wider community awareness on Child Health related issues based on prepared project activity guidelines
follow and ensure field implementation of project related SOPs / guidelines as defined in the research project.

Requirements:
You should have:
a minimum of Bachelors degree in Arts, Science, Pharmacy, Psychology or any other relevant field will be an added advantage
a minimum of one to two years of experience in research
the ability to manage time and prioritise tasks effectively
good communication and interpersonal skills
resilience and ability to cope with work pressure
willing to work in the communities/field sites
good computer and report writing skills.
This is a close ended position based in Matiari, Hyderabad.
