Job Description

The position of Maintenance and Projects Engineer (Mechanical) at Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) requires the person who can work on operation and maintenance of generators, exhibit sound knowledge of mechanical drawings and supervise all the mechanical works in the campus. He/She will report to MEP Engineer & Project Manager and will supervise Repair & Maintenance Works and Projects.

Position requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience:
BSc Mechanical Engineering (16 years of education) or Equivalent Education with 3 years of relevant work experience
DAE (13 years of education) in Mechanical Technology with 10 years of relevant work experience
Skills:
Good financial and numeracy management skills
Computer literate with good working knowledge of MS Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialized software
Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
Team working
Good knowledge of construction of HVAC Systems as well as of maintenance of generators
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent communication and negotiating skills
The ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
A clear understanding of HSE building regulations

Responsibilities:
The duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Reporting to the MEP Engineer in case of breakdowns/unexpected situations.
Inspection of all electrical and mechanical components of all generators routinely.
Supervision of scheduled maintenances and creating/opting appropriate maintenance procedures.
Arranging fuel in a timely manner for all the gensets, review and compiling of daily fuel consumption reports.
Assessing the need of spare parts and service kits; managing the stock by raising PR / SR for all gensets and strive for the optimum use of resources.
Identify operational problems by observing and studying system functioning and observing parameters; investigating complaints and suggestions.
Contribute towards the continuous improvement of generator operation and preventive maintenance and take initiatives to provide safety awareness to generator operators in generator yards.
Coordination with the Contractors for efficient delivery of services/projects.
Review mechanical drawings and supervise the installation, testing and commissioning of different running and upcoming projects which may involve but not limited to mechanical equipment such as firefighting systems, HVAC & Plumbing works and lifts.
Progress tracking and reporting to line manager for M&P works.
Assistance in cost estimation and verification of invoices of projects.
Liaising with designer & inhouse purchase department for technical queries.
QC Inspections of day to day activities.
Liaising with the contractor to carry out works according to the requirement of projects.
Any other duties as directed by the MEP Engineer/Project Manager.
