Job Description

Reports to: Senior Manager/Head of Department
Position requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience:
16 years equivalent education** with 2 years relevant work experience***
18 years equivalent education** with preferably some relevant experience***
**Equivalent education:
Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, English or related discipline.
***Experience:
The incumbent must have experience in a communications and/or project management role with a proven track record of writing, project coordination as well as sound knowledge of web applications, digital media, design and print production, and marketing. Understanding of fundraising, donor relations and university advancement is preferred and considered a strong asset.

Job Purpose/Summary:
Work across the team to ensure all relevant institutional events and opportunities are capitalized on for donor cultivation and stewardship and, where needed, relevant opportunities are created in partnership with the team members. Draft funding proposals, stewardship reports, gift agreements and acknowledgments when required by the supervisor. Liaise with fundraising team to collate impact reports as outlined in gift agreements. Support the development of fundraising specific projects and opportunities such as legacy giving. Work collaboratively to plan, develop, execute, and evaluate creative communication strategies and multi-media materials for Advancement. Develop and support strategies that encourage philanthropic contributions to the university and that describe the impact of these contributions on the university's mission and vision. Maintain and post content for the Advancement website and social media with support from the team members.

Responsibilities:
Assist in development and project management of annual publications, donor communications, recognition listings, print inventory, correspondence updates for Development and Donor Relations
Undertake research, interview, gather testimonials and photos, create content, assist with coordinating production and approvals for specialized communication projects as required
Assist with the development and maintenance of procedures and identify improvements to internal processes
Write or revise standard and personalized gift recognition/acknowledgement, thank you and fundraising letters as required
Provide support for annual donor recognition events such as the Donors Appreciation Dinners.
Provide coordinated project management for special initiatives and digital projects
Perform other duties as assigned.
