Job Description

The Human Development Programme (HDP) aims to support human development through a multidisciplinary and research-based approach. Its initial focus is early childhood, a period of life that lays the foundation for all future learning, development and wellbeing. Applying an integrated approach to education, health, nutrition and stimulation in early years. HDP aims to provide the support needed to promote holistic child development by enhancing physical, cognitive, social and emotional abilities of children to help them become healthy competent individuals participating productively and effectively in their societies.
HDP is determined to promote better development of future generations and with its educational and community-based programmes. The Programme aims to build the capacity of professionals, parents and communities who have the responsibility of providing a strong foundation and learning opportunities for ensuring a good start in life to every child.
This is a short term grant-funded position.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Research Specialist, you will be responsible to undertake and coordinate activities for a project on maternal mental health and children's social-emotional development.
Specific responsibilities include:
collaborating with community workers in identifying mothers and children for enrollment in the project
providing support in development of relevant training material and carrying out appropriate trainings
conducting door-to-door baseline and end line surveys in the community on prescribed forms
ensuring correct and accurate data collection and maintaining record of data according to the SOPs
conducting data editing and data entry of survey forms on predesigned software
assisting in focus group discussions and in-depth interviews with various stakeholders
transcribing and organising the data collected from focus group discussions and in-depth interviews
supervising counselling sessions of community workers on predesigned observation form
coordinating and assisting Research Specialist (Supervisor) for all project activities.

Requirements:
at least a Bachelors degree or preferably Masters in Psychology from a reputable institution
experience in mental health research projects in community setting (at least 3 years with Bachelor's and 2 years with Masters degree)
experience in training and supervising community workers in GB
basic communication and interpersonal skills to be able to work as a team
the ability to manage assigned work according to timelines
the ability to be proactive, taking initiatives to improve quality of work
sound knowledge and skills for training of Community Workers and undertaking research activities in community setting
effective planning, organising and coordination capabilities
strong English language, computer and data management skills
the ability to travel to field as per requirement of the project.
