Job Description

A leading Law Firm in Dubai is looking for a Bilingual Legal Assistant. (Excellent proficiency in Arabic and English is a must)

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide legal support by conducting extensive case-related research on facts and laws as well as search public records and other resources to determine the course of action.
2. Attend an Expert meeting.
3. Open new case files and ensure all required documents and complete client details are provided and kept in the file.
4. Create and manage a case management database and organize and maintain documents in a paper and electronic filing system (case engine).
5. Organize and monitor files related to handled cases and relevant transactions.
6. Prepare and draft legal notice, settlement agreement, pleadings, correspondence, bilingual contract and other legal documents under the supervision of the handling lawyer.
7. Register cases online.
8. Prepare the minutes of meetings with client or expert.
9. Obtain copies of court documents, such as judgment, case file and expert report.
10. Check case decision and update the concerned Advocate / Associate.
11. Prepare the Terms of Engagement letter in Arabic/ English and make sure that it is signed by the client. Provide a copy to Accounts Department and shared network folder.
12. Monitor and follow up with the client regarding the status of outstanding invoices.
13. Update client using both Arabic and English languages.
14. Summarize / translate court decision / judgment as needed.
15. Arrange the necessary documents for legal translation and review the translated document before submitting it to the court/expert.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
16. Prepare Power of Attorney (POA) online.
17. Assist lawyers in organizing exhibits and archiving exhibits online for their hearings and handle other tasks when needed.
18. Prepare legal documents for court submission.
19. Render legal opinion and advice on matters involving various legal issues.
20. Perform other duties assigned or required from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Educational Requirement:
Male / Female; Graduate of Bachelor of Laws or higher degree from an accredited university.
Minimum Experiential Requirement:
At least 3 years of continuous practical legal training.

PREFERRED SKILLS
Proficient in MS Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel; Fluent in oral and written Arabic and English communications; Strong interpersonal skill; Highly organized; Keen to details; Must be able to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines; Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment; Strong analytical ability.
