Al Raja School was established in 1899 by missionaries from the Reformed Church in America (RCA) as the first Western-style school in the Gulf and situated in the heart of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Manama. Al Raja School, with a growing student body of over 650 students, wishes to appoint an outstanding school leader as principal to continue to build on the school's excellent academic standards and successfully lead the school at Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary Levels in the preparation of our students for university in the Kingdom of Bahrain and worldwide. The board seeks an innovative and driven leader to guide Al Raja School's growth and development into an exciting next chapter of its history.
The successful candidate will have:
a passion for education and the ability to lead, inspire and challenge a team of teachers from Kindergarten to 12th Grade levels
appropriate teaching qualities with a proven track-record as a teaching practitioner
significant senior leadership experience leading continuous school improvement focused on achieving measurable goals, and implementing new initiative and improving educational standards
strong financial and administrative management skills
excellent written and oral communication skills preferably with some understanding/knowledge of spoken Arabic
sensitivity to issues arising out of working in a multicultural community with differing religious practices
a desire for students with different learning needs to be nurtured within the broader student community
empathy for the emotional and social welfare of the students
