Merit Scholarship Scheme 2016-17 For the Children of Serving / Retired/ Deceased Employees
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) offers financial assistance by way of Merit Scholarship to the talented and meritorious children of its serving/ retired/ deceased employees (up to OG-2 level) who are pursuing their studies at Intermediate, Graduation and Post Graduation levels.
Applications for grant of scholarships under Merit Scholarship Scheme 2016-17 are invited from the serving & retired employees as well as spouse/ family of the deceased employees of SBP on the prescribed form for award of scholarship to their eligible children.

Eligibility for SBP Merit Scholarship
Employees' Eligibility:
The children of all SBP employees (serving/ retired/ deceased), up to OG-2 level, are eligible under this Scheme.

Courses and subjects:
a) Intermediate Course
Candidates pursuing Intermediate in Science, Economics, Commerce, Computer Science, Information Technology and Diploma of Associate Engineering from a recognized institution are eligible.
b) Graduation Course
Candidates pursuing graduation in Science, Commerce, Business, Economics. Technical Education, Public Administration, Information Technology. Medical. Pharmacy & Engineering.
c) Post Graduation Course
Candidates pursuing Post Graduation in Science. Commerce, Business. Economics, Technical Education, Public Administration, Information Technology, Medical, Pharmacy & Engineering.

Educational Institution
The award of scholarships for Graduation/ Post-Graduation courses will be considered for only those students who have taken admission in one of the HEC's currently recognized University/ Degree Awarding Institutions (DAIs).

Other Eligibility Conditions:
Children of SBP employees (up to O GIevel) who have passed their last Exams (Matriculation/ Intermediate or Graduation) during the calendar year 2015 or 2016 with minimum "B" grade or have obtained at least 60% marks.
In case of grades mentioned in GPA/CGPA format, the candidates will have to provide marks equivalence certificate from the concerned institution.
Candidates having passed "A" level or "O" level examinations under the Cambridge International Examination System are also eligible.
The candidates must have taken admission in one of the HEC's currently recognized Institutions during the calendar year 2016.
The students in receipt of scholarships from any other institution or the Government are not eligible.

Admissibility/ Withdrawal:
All scholarship will be granted in order of merit in accordance with the prescribed quota for each course.
Only those candidates will be considered for award of scholarship who strictly meet all the eligibility conditions mentioned in this advertisement.
After the grant of scholarship for a specific course, no substitution of course or institution will be allowed.
The scholarship will be withdrawn if a student fail or do not appear in the examination.

Application Procedure:
Interested employees/ ex-employees of SBP up to OG-2 level or their spouse (in case of deceased employee) whose children meet the specified eligibility criteria may submit their applications to the Sr. Joint Director, Human Resources Department, State Bank of Pakistan, I. I. Chundrigar Road, Karachi-74000, latest by January 31, 2017.
