Job Description

Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities.
The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has nine community-based field sites across Pakistan (including five in Karachi) and focuses on research for the betterment of women and child health. It imparts high quality undergraduate and postgraduate training and carries out community oriented research of public health importance. The Department consists of a group of dedicated full-time and part-time faculty. Besides the outpatient clinics, the inpatient set-up consists of a paediatric ward with two units comprising of 84 beds, a dedicated 5-bedded area for paediatric neurology, a neonatal unit with facility of admitting 24 neonates along with ventilator support at a time, a eight-bedded dedicated paediatric ICU and 4 bedded pediatric cardiac ICU with round the clock critical care services looked after by fully trained paediatric medical and nursing staff.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to provide research and technical support to the department faculty in developing grant proposals, initiate research activities, run research projects and collaborate with other departments under the guidance of faculty. You will work in liaison with current researchers on identifying and developing future research and funding initiatives, developing and managing current and future research administration.

Requirements:
You should have:
a Masters or MPhil degree in Public Health or Epidemiology and Biostatistics, while those with FCPS in Community Medicine or PhD in relevant discipline will be preferred
at least two years of relevant experience in any reputable organization is a preference for applicants with PhD and is a requirement in case of having a MPhil or Masters degrees
well-versed with research methodologies and data analysis techniques
proficiency in the use of computer applications, particularly MS Office and other relevant software packages for data entry and analysis
excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
ability to effectively work independently as well as in teams and establish harmonious working relations at the workplace
ability to multi-task, manage time effectively and prioritize assignments as per timelines
willingness to work at field sites and national and international travel as per project needs.
