Job Description

Human Resource at AKU is the organizational function that deals with issues related to people such as hiring, performance management, compensation, organizational development, wellness and safety, benefits, employee relations and motivation, communication, administration, and learning and development of employees. The AKUs Human Resource Management Philosophy is based on the conviction that the well-being of the Organization and the well-being of its people are one and the same.
Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Manager, Communications in Human Resources Department.

You will play a leading role to strengthen the Employer brand of the organization and work to enhance the image of AKU as a preferred employer with the internal and external stakeholders. This would include the creation and development of print and online materials, email marketing, web site management, content development, media relations, press releases, bylined articles, corporate videos & communication collateral, budget development and cost tracking. You will also be responsible in the creation, implementation and overseeing of communications programs, be it internal or external, that effectively describe and promote the organization and its services.
Other task includes:
working as an integral member of the Human Resources you will maintain a direct connection with communication team to deliver communication campaigns that support the goals and strategies of Human Resources at AKU.
maximize collaboration, efficiency and creativity in the building and maintenance of consistent branding or corporate identity across all channels.
developing and refining of communication goals, pricing strategies, promotional activities and branding in alignment with AKU Voice Strategy.
developing relevant social media outlets to support and expand the digital presence.
planning and implementing direct communication approaches including targeting, personalization of messages and measurability; data analysis, audience profiling and segmentation.
managing the HRs Communications budget and ensure programme milestones related to communications are achieved on time and within budget.
serve as a change agent to lead new initiatives with managers and supervisors to lead and manage change.

You must have:
Masters degree in Communications, Marketing or a related discipline.
at least 5 - 6 years of experience in corporate communications preferably in Human Resources, with an understanding of media, journalism and digital marketing.
well versed with latest digital marketing tools and experience of managing communications / branding campaign on social media channels.
excellent writing and editing skills, with an emphasis on developing from simple copy for digital channels to complex articles for media and journal publications.
familiarity with the use of content management systems.
demonstrated interpersonal skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
analytical and conceptual skills essential for effective strategic thinking
strong self-management with a high level of energy and flexibility
must be able to effectively operate, and manage resources in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
