Job Description

Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) is seeking a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). This post has a key role in strategic policy development for the University and ensuring that administrative services are provided in an effective and efficient manner to support the operational running and strategic aims of the University.

Supervising responsibility:
Chief Engineer Building and Works
General Manager Operations
Chief Security Officer
General Manager Procurement and Fixed Assets
General Manager Food, Beverages & Caterers
Senior Manager, Events Reservation & Facilities
Senior Manager, Health & Safety

Primary Responsibilities:
Contributing to the leadership of the University as a whole
Play a central role, in conjunction with other C-level officers, in forward planning and strategy development for the university.
Ensure that there are appropriate departmental strategies in place to support the University strategy and oversee the implementation of these strategies
Take responsibility for the effective integration of processes across the University as a whole and for the improvement of these processes over time
Play a central role in the initiation, development and implementation of major projects
Represent the University externally as required
Maintain appropriate internal and external networks
Represent the administrative services and senior management within the University
Provide leadership and set objectives for the administrative services as whole
Oversee the setting of objectives and evaluation of performance for each of the relevant departments
Lead and promote integration between the relevant departments
Allocate resources and approve budgets across the departments
Take responsibility for the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative services as a whole, intervening as and when require, to ensure that key objectives are met.
Promote a culture of innovation, flexibility and quality in all aspects of administrative services
Establish external benchmarks and appropriate KPIs as the basis for demonstrating the quality of administrative services
Promote and support the development of partnerships and integration between the faculties and administrative services
Develop ways of attracting good people to work within the administrative services and to develop and retain talent within them.
Ensure that appropriate performance management and succession planning is in place
Provide oversight in risk management, quality control & assurance, operations management and maintaining external and internal regulatory frameworks
Promote the financial and operational stability of the University in relevant departments, including the efficiency and effectiveness of its operations
Ensure that there is appropriate non-financial management information available for decision making
The post holder may be required to carry out additional duties as required
Position requirements:

Minimum Education: Masters or higher degree in any subject
Minimum Experience: 10 + years

Demonstrably strong planning, leadership and organizational skills
Strong financial acumen
Flexible and creative problem solving skills
Strong work ethic; ability to work flexible hours
Solid understanding of business functions
Familiar with legal processes and responsibilities affecting the execution of duties
