Job Description

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Employee Relations Specialist.

You will be responsible to assist in developing and executing employee relations strategy and approach that is robust, coordinated across the organization, responsive to issues as they arise. Will serve as a resource to ensure the organization consistently maintains its high ethical and legal standards through the execution of proactive employee relations initiatives and the delivery of targeted training programs.

Specifically, you will be responsible to:
assist in designing, implementing, directing, and evaluating University's programs that support the employee relations, and retention of the best people;
enforce employee relations programs, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and fair application/enforcement of University's policies across the organization
provide expert advice to department managers and HRBPs on employee relations issues that is consistent and aligned with policies
provide regular communication and training to HR teams on employee relations policies, programs and related issues
ensure sustainable employee relations processes and protocol are communicated, put in place and followed through completely to resolve issues and support action plans
analyze trends and identify risk areas, create and implement plans to address
draft clear and meaningful documentation investigation conclusion memoranda for HR, senior leadership and legal counsel review
keep abreast of and maintain working knowledge of legal requirements at the state and federal levels; researches legal issues as required
facilitate HR in supervisory capacities ensuring administration of statutory requirements and the schemes;

Master's degree in Business Administration from a recognized University or equivalent.
Bachelors in Law will be an added advantage;
minimum 05 years of related experience
hands on experience for handling employee grievances/investigations
knowledge of Labor Laws of the Country and Human Resource practices
strong in portraying values and ability to lead by an example
strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and oral
ability to effectively solve problems and make decisions
ability to understand people's background and motives
ability to listen, but also to persuasively convey opinions and recommendations.
attention to detail and ability to multitask.
experience from FMCG industry is an additional advantage.
