Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity as Manager Occupational Health, Safety & Emergency. In this role you will be responsible for leading, planning and implementing safety management system (SMS) for Qatar Aviation Services. You will be responsible for working with Qatar Airways Corporate Safety Group to ensure policies, processes are aligned and directives are followed. You will ensure to meet requirements, including legal compliance, airline client expectations and CAA directives.

Key accountabilities:
Recommend and agree upon SPIs and KPIs for Occupational Health, Safety & Emergency.
Design, produce an continuously improve QAS Safety Management System Emergency Response Plan.
Represent QAS on different strategy forums of QR Group related to OHS & E and ensure issues are considered whilst forming new policies.
Delivers key safety strategic projects link that will benefit our business, our people and our stakeholders.
Plan and adapt Safety implementation in Air side operations based on the analysis and real time environment.
Devise and establish company's safety procedures, standards and specifications, to meet international and national standards.
Implement the QAS Safety Management System in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Manage the development of new policies and QAS safety standards, through proactive Risk Assessment Management and continuous improvement.
Develop campaigns of safety culture across QAS and lead investigations into safety occurrences, produce reports and make recommendations.
Manage audits and inspections to produce reports and make recommendations for OHS & E.
Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports and Report operational hazards.
Hold regular audits and spot-checks of QAS to risk-assess that the agreed SOPs satisfy the need for consistently professional standards.
Through Root-cause analysis of accidents, incidents, process-failures, deliver solutions, manage risk assessment campaigns to significantly reduce risk to acceptable management levels.
Initiate and coordinate the Operational Safety Committee Meetings, with the staff involvement, as the coach and the train-the-trainer.
Ensure implementation of any Health & Safety Procedures issued by QR Safety, QCAA, or HIA Airport Safety, in the event of specific occurrences, incidents or accidents.
Lead emergency exercises on behalf of QAS by coordinating with different stakeholders and QAS management.

About You:
To be successful in this role you should hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with minimum 8 years relevant experience in airport operations, preferably in Ground handling / cargo or logistics warehousing. You should have good experience in Quality Management System and Safety Management System within the aviation industry. You should have good knowledge of TQM, ISO9000 etc.
You must be fluent in English both written and oral. You should be a strong team player with good problem-solving skills and the ability to foster teamwork among team members. You must be adaptable to meet customer expectations whilst ensuring legal compliance. You should have proven ability in change management in a multi-cultural. Proven expertise in Aviation safety procedures is highly desired.
